Imagine this, it’s the week of your wedding. You’re excited. But there’s a looming thought – what if I forget something?
You’ve got all the fun wedding things happening this week. Nails, tan, and a pre wedding day dinner with your besties *yay*
But then the morning of your wedding arrives and as you’re sipping your second mimosa with your girlies your face suddenly changes *eeeek* I forgot XYZ!!
It’s common to forget something on your wedding day (unless I’m your Wedding Planner) so to avoid any wedding day freak-outs and mad dashes to your local Reject Shop, here are 12 things not to forget on your wedding day.
Change of shoes: I’m sure your shoes look *gorg* but after a few hours of walking around in them, you might be looking for something a little comfier when it’s time to hit the dance floor. A comfy pair of shoes are things not to forget on your wedding day. Hide your shoes under your wedding table so it’s an easy change when you’re ready.
Transport for your loved ones: If you have a group of friends and family with you the morning of your wedding, you probably have your personal transport sorted, but what about everyone else? It doesn’t need to be anything fancy, just a designated driver getting everyone your ceremony.
Have a plan for lunch: It’s so easy to be so excited about your wedding day, you actually forget to eat. By the time you get to your ceremony, you’re starving. So have a plan for lunch during the day. Order a grazing box. Have Mum go buy sandwiches from the local bakery. Have a plan and eat. Trust me, your stomach will thank you for the things not to forget on your wedding day.
Nice hanger for your dress: Chances are your photographer and/or videographer will want to get some beautiful shots of your dress. Now imagine that on a wire hanger *yuck* Go out and get a nice wooden hanger for your dress on your wedding day.
Your wedding rings: Now I know this seems obvious, but remember your wedding rings for your ceremony. My tip, assign the responsibility to someone you trust with looking after your wedding rings. One person = less likely of your rings going walkabout.
Portable phone chargers: You are unlikely to have your phone on you on your wedding day, but your bride tribe might wanna capture some BTS video of your day (for the gram reels) so have a couple of portable chargers on standby for the day. An appreciated things not to forget on your wedding day.
Bag for all your bits and bobs: It’s likely you will want to take a lip gloss for touch ups after your ceremony, maybe a hair brush for later in the night and perhaps a safety pin for the “just in case” moments. So have a little bag on hand with all the bits and pieces you “might” need.
Overnight bag: If you’re planning on leaving your wedding and heading straight to an accomodation venue for the night, have your overnight bag on standby. In your car, in your besties car, wherever. Just remember to grab it before you leave your reception.
Vendor contact list: Prior to your wedding, collate all the information for your vendors who will be there on the day. Put together their names, jobs (ie. photographer) and mobile contact numbers. Give this to everyone in your wedding party for the “just in case” moments. A wise things not to forget on your wedding day.
Your veil: At some stage, you might take your wedding veil off. It’s easy to put it down somewhere and say “I’ll get that later”. No, no no. Give your veil to a trusted friend so it’s safe and you don’t wake up in the morning going “um… where is my veil”?
Your wet weather plan: Not everyone’s favourite topic, but it’s certainly things not to forget on your wedding day. Know your plan B if wet weather is going to disrupt your wedding day plans. Also designated one person who you fully trust to action your plan if you need to.
Emergency kit: You never know what could go wrong, or what you might need on your wedding day. Think double sided tape, bandaids, deodorant, mints, baby wipes – everything you “might” need on the day, put it in the kit.
