Alora Macedon Wedding Venue: Inside Victoria’s Most Exciting New Tuscan-Inspired Estate

If you’ve ever dreamed of a wedding that feels like a private Tuscan estate with rolling hills, grand architecture and sunset views, but just 45 minutes from Melbourne, then there’s a new venue you need to know about.

Introducing Alora Macedon, one of Victoria’s most exciting new luxury wedding destinations. Set on 13 private acres in the Macedon Ranges, this breathtaking estate blends European elegance with sweeping countryside views of Mount Macedon.

But what makes this venue especially exciting for us? Our team at Mellyrain Creative had the honour of being the very first wedding planning team invited to style the property, trusted by the venue to help showcase its incredible spaces through a styled shoot before weddings even begin.

And after spending time on the estate… It’s safe to say this venue is going to become one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Victoria.

A private estate wedding venue in the Macedon Ranges

Unlike traditional wedding venues, Alora Macedon is hired as an entire private estate. That means when you book your wedding here, the property becomes completely yours. No other weddings. No other events. Just your guests, your celebration and the rolling Macedon Ranges landscape.

The estate has been purpose built by the owners and designed specifically for weddings with no detail overlooked.

  • There is a breathtaking Glass Atrium reception space big enough for 400 seated guests.
  • State of the art onsite facilities including a commercial kitchen space and luxury bathrooms.
  • An elegant Vista ceremony space that provides both indoor and outdoor options for your ceremony.
  • Two luxury accommodation residences allowing up to 23 guests onsite.
  • Landscapes gardens and did we mention rolling hill landscapes as far as the eye can see!

It’s the kind of venue that truly takes your breath away!

The Glass Atrium: A reception space like no other

The centrepiece of Alora Macedon is undoubtedly the Glass Atrium. Designed as a striking architectural reception space, it features:

  • Floor-to-ceiling glass walls
  • Polished concrete floors
  • A crystal-clear roof
  • Four crystal chandeliers suspended overhead
  • Fully commercial kitchen and luxurious bathrooms
  • A stunning alfresco cocktail area
  • Sweeping views across the Macedon Ranges landscape

The space can accommodate up to 400 guests. Including all the tables and chairs you need for your celebration!

One of the most magical elements? As the sun sets over Mount Macedon, the atrium becomes filled with golden light and later in the evening, your reception continues beneath the stars through the glass ceiling.

It’s dramatic, elegant and incredibly immersive.

The Vista ceremony space with Mount Macedon views

For ceremonies, couples can exchange vows in The Vista, a beautifully designed ceremony space overlooking Mount Macedon.

This space feels almost European in style, featuring:

  • Soft draped neutral fabrics overhead
  • A grand Marie Antoinette-style chandelier
  • A sweeping staircase leading from a European balcony
  • A five-metre-high glass wall framing the landscape

The ceremony area opens onto a checkerboard courtyard, creating the perfect transition into cocktail hour or the perfect space for an outdoor ceremony.

From a wedding planner’s perspective, this space and flow works beautifully! Guests naturally move through the spaces as the celebration unfolds with the effect of a new experience at every turn.

Note: This space is due for competition in April 2026 and we are beyond excited to see the space when completed!

Luxury accommodation on the estate

Another reason couples are drawn to Alora Macedon weddings is the ability to turn the celebration into an entire wedding weekend. The estate includes two onsite accommodation properties.

La Villa

Perched on the hillside, La Villa is a stunning sandstone residence inspired by Italian architecture. La Villa include:

  • A 10-metre pool overlooking Mount Macedon
  • Tuscan arches and sandstone textures
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows
  • Seven bedrooms sleeping up to 14 guests

It’s the perfect place for bridal preparations or relaxing with family before the big day.

The Cottage

The Cottage offers a modern farmhouse aesthetic. It includes three bedrooms and is the perfect spot for families to stay during the weekend celebrations.

Together, the accommodation can host up to 23 guests, creating an intimate experience for the wedding party and close family on the estate.

The Loggia: A Pre-Wedding Retreat for the Wedding Party

One of the more unique spaces on the estate is The Loggia, a charming mud-brick retreat designed for the wedding party to relax before the celebration begins.

It’s the perfect place for a quiet moment with your closest people before walking down the aisle or a place to retreat and take a breath as needed during the celebrations.

Our styled shoot: The first Wedding Planning Team to style Alora Macedon

Before the venue officially opens for weddings in late 2026, we were invited by the Alora Macedon team to style and showcase the property through a curated shoot. Being trusted with this opportunity was incredibly special.

The vision was simple. Let the architecture and landscape speak for themselves, while layering in styling that felt elevated but timeless. The concept we created was inspired by a luxury European Garden feel.

We transformed the outdoor alfresco area of the Glass Atrium into a stunning cocktail hour setting showing how to add your own personal touches to a venue space.

We were also lucky enough to showcase other areas of the property including the luxurious La Villa poolside at sunset.

Planning a wedding at a private estate like Alora

One of the things couples love about private estate wedding venues is the freedom they offer. Unlike traditional venues, estates like Alora Macedon allow couples to bring in their preferred vendors and create a wedding that feels completely personal.

But with that flexibility also comes additional wedding planning. Private estates typically involve extra planning in:

  • External catering for food and beverages
  • Vendor logistics across a large property
  • Ceremony and reception setup (not to mention styling concept creation)
  • Detailed timelines and transitions between spaces

This is where working with a wedding planner can make a huge difference.

A wedding planner helps bring all the moving pieces together ensuring the design, logistics and guest experience all flow seamlessly so couples can simply enjoy the celebration. But properties like Alora Macedon need a wedding planning team who specialise in private estates (that’s where Mellyrain Creative can help!)

Why Alora Macedon is set to become one of Victoria’s most popular wedding venues

After experiencing the property firsthand and discussing in depth the vision for the venue with its owner, it’s easy to see why Alora Macedon is generating so much excitement.

It offers something rare for couples seeking a venue in Victoria. A beautiful mix of European elegance and modern architecture, as well as complete privacy and luxury. And all just 45 minutes from Melbourne.

For couples dreaming of a destination-style wedding without leaving Victoria, Alora Macedon might just be the perfect venue.

If you’re planning a wedding at Alora Macedon and want help bringing the vision to life, working with an experienced wedding planner can help you maximise everything this incredible estate has to offer.
